A Poem-Prayer:
SANIB-HINGA
NG
PASASALAMAT
AT
PAGHANGA
Our
Unified Breath of Gratitude and Awe
[ This
is a
poem-prayer offered by Ding Reyes, executive convenor of the
Sanib-Sining Movement for Synaesthetics, It was composed in Quezon
City on August 29, 2004, for simultaneous and/or chorused praying by
people who, while possibly diverse in creed, are all embraced by a
shared sense of gratitude and awe, and are moreover embraced by the
earth, fire, air and water (Lupa, Apoy, Hangi\n at Tubig or LAHaT),
and bound in symbiosis with the animals and plants. We
suggest that this be discussed and prayed within the
first hour of September 1, and repeated many times over in the
different days up to the last hour of October 4, in comme- moration
of the Creation Celebration Season this year. We request for help in
coming up immediately with translations of this into various
languages, which may be sent to dingreyes@yahoo.com for sharing with
others. ]
Sanib-Hinga
ng
Pasasalamat at Paghangà
Our
Unified Breath of Gratitude and Awe
O
Bathala / Dakilang Maylikhâ,
O
Great Divine Creator,
Nagkakaiba-iba
man
kami,
/
ngayon ay
kusà
/ Despite
our being widely diverse, we now wilfully
Na
nagsasanib-tinig / nang tahasat sadyâ /
Blend,
consciously and definitely, our own little voices
Sa
iisang paghingang / wagas at akmâ /
To
breathe out together sincerely and aptly
Sa
aming Pasasalamat /at Paghangà!
Our
Thankfulness and Awe!
Kaming
lahat, nawa, / ay makaunawà /
We
hope that we will all get to understand deeply
Na
bawat isa sa amin / ay Banal na Salitâ /
That
each of us is a Holy Word
Sa
kabuuan nitong / hinahabi Mong Tulâ! /
In
the Poetic Tapestry that You are weaving!
Sanlibutan
ay patuloy / pa ngang inaakdâ /
Indeed,
the Universe continues to be authored
At
kami ay kalahok / sa Yong paglikhâ! //
With
us in active participation in Your Creation!
Siyanga!
Amen!
